Dark Ares: Preview

So I got curious with Dark Ares. It's an online rpg with a dungeon type style gameplay where you can only see everyone at the town.

After installing you need to patch more files, all 34/34 of them.  The first 20 files are a bit slow *not unless if you have a very good fast connection* but the rest will download faster from the rest from 20/34.

And here's the log-in page where you can see a dragon flying around . Accounts button would let you log-in on different accounts without the need of re-installing the game,  Server button let you change servers, Quick Join button to play as a guest player and enter game button well you're very much aware what that is for already.

After tapping Enter game you can register for the game from these options. I chose google login.  Just relaunch the game if you can only see a white blank screen here which happened to me a couple of times. 

Classes are gender locked and there is no customization except for the equipments that you'll have from here on. Disclaimer the equips shown here are not included and are sold or looted separately lol.  Here are the classes

If you'll read the descriptions here it shows that you can choose two optional weapon on each classes except for the Archer class.  Since I do not do melee classes I chose the loli Warlock.

After choosing a class I went through a quick tutorial. Where you will learn how to move and attack.

So here's the town.  The camera view is fixed but the character moves on 3d. Here you can meet your friends.

Then I took some quest from this Sage npc up on the north.

You'll be soloing quest dungeons but it's not hard to complete it. I was given a dual fan as my starter weapon if I continue playing I'll switch to a staff.

You won't feel the difficulty even on boss encounter, though the dungeon place are a bit cramped. If you notice there is no mp bar/gauge anywhere on the screen because mana is not needed here, you just need to wait for the skill to cooldown and use it.

After the dungeon quest you will be given random items by choosing the cards according to your rating. I don't know what the max rating is yet, maybe a S and or SSS but surely it means you can be able to pick more than 2 items. Besides doing story quest dungeon to loot equipments you can also do pvp and party dungeons.

I'm not sure if these are just starter skills because it feels somewhat lacking. Most of the time whenever you see a skill that you want to have it fires you up to do more leveling. In this case I was like "okaaay that's it?! ". *was actually looking for more Ice element skills

The starter equipments are quite cute and impressive. Who needs fashion equips if the armor itself is stunning already.

This is the only game that I played so far that has chat emoticon.

After completing the second quest my screen got cluttered. They should make other icons smaller and lesser notifications on the screen please.

You can check the mall for free items. Yes you read it right free items at the mall.  See the required level to get these boxes for free. What's inside?  That I don't know yet.

You get to recieve more free items in these four tabs in the reward section without using any gems. Login reward,  spring of exp, Launch reward, uknown box and recruit friends. Other tabs like lucky wheel and awesome weapons requires for you to buy/use gems.

Overall the game is just fine!  If you're looking for a not too hardcore dungeon type online rpg game to enjoy with shiny fantasy type of characters and has a simple gameplay then this is for you!
