Game Preview: Aura Kingdom II

As promised here's a game preview, a game sequel of the first Aura Kingdom. The name sounds familiar to me but I don't think I played the first version so please don't expect any comparisons because I know nothing about the previous game.
As I mentioned Aura Kingdom II was developed by X-Legend Ent released just this April 13, 2020. I haven't checked out any trailer so I don't know what to expect from this game and I'm not putting my hopes high as most so called mmo on phones are quite disappointing already (except for Stellacept). But let's see what it could offer on a first hand experience.

Here are the starting classes to choose from:

All classes has a female & male option except for the Nymph. Here's how they look.

Shinobi

Dragoon

Elementalist

You'll be able to customize your character from different hairstyles, faces, colors (for eyes & hair) and skin tone. At the end of the customization they also let you choose one of the face accessory as a starting gift. The gender option is a plus. I hoped being a Loli was a part of the customization but then it's not a downside for me. How cute a loli priestess would be.
After naming my character yup! you're right! tutorials comes next. As per usual it teaches you controls, picking up things and using skills then after a few scenes and conversations about the main story I got transported to Blackanchor harbor. I started doing story quests where there's an option for auto-pilot which is a very common feature nowadays on mmos' even in pc. This is convenient for starters since we don't know which monster's are which, location names and for those who doesn't have a sense of direction (that's me). I still can remember how gruesome playing Lineage II is (pcversion) but it was awesome. Let's check how large the map is hoping its not a so-called mmo with 1 or 2 towns.

Now let's take a look at the map.
Okay this is decent, above average. So here I'm at Mt. Fertile its under Central continent west which consists of 8 regions. Besides Central continent there's Central continent East which has 4 regions and South sea that has 3 regions. I think Aucurus online has more maps but each regions here has a wider area than 1 map in Aucurus. Looking at all the blank places there's a future possible updates. (erhm.. but don't quote me on that)

The UI and gameplay is common where there's a virtual stick control and the skill buttons which is not bad as its the most convenient way to play games on phones.

The game's camera control can be rotated in a full 360 view with a zoom in and out capability. If you go on full camera mode (which hides all UI) there's a super zoom in and out option. Group selfies anyone? The zoom out camera mode can fit 1 full Guild.

Apart from the common things that you usually see in most mmo's, here you have an Eidolon,  if you played FFIX you know it's something that you summon to battle for you dealing one hella of a damage. I'm not sure how it really works but the same with FFIX they aid you in battles but here they battle with you though they don't suddenly comes in with a grand cinematic entrance in every encounter but they do give you nice poses when you summon them to join your personal party.

Also one or two of your Eidolons follows you wherever you go. I guess so you won't feel lonely.

Aura Kingdom is promising compared to everything that I tried after Stellacept. So far thumbs up for their gender option, character customization and interface capabilities. A game changer here would be player interaction, are the roles of the classes distinctive enough to be needed?Late game activities, after reaching the level cap what's next? besides trying out different classes. Is there world bosses where anyone can participate? Usually what ruins a game is if your class is not needed or each class can go solo throughout the game without doing anything extra there's no deep community connection. It's more fun if you play a distinctive role. I hope the game goes well as its just on its first month. I'll do more leveling to see more out of it.

Thanks for reading!
